It is without doubt that streetwear has become the most influential style in the fashion community. It continues to evolve in modernity and has taken on an athletic role thanks to UK grime artist Skepta. Ever since he put his Gucci all in the bin, Skepta is staying true to his street roots with the help of fitted caps, Nike tracksuits and an endless supply of Supreme, Uniqlo, and Cottweiler. He wears each piece with ease and makes the point that streetwear is supposed to be realistic, functionable, and modern. I thought it would be fun to pay tribute to the man with a vintage Nike parka and baseball cap.  I elevated the look a bit more with a pair of blue velvet heels, and fishnet tights. Skepta is singlehandedly the most influential artist in streetwear fashion and has remained true to himself throughout his career. He proves that you don’t need to wear a gold chain and a Rolex Presidential to be considered “cool.”  I hope one day I get to see the man perform live for his spirit shines genuinely through his music, keep on inspiring us Skepta! Check out my favourite track/video by the man featuring A$AP Mob’s A$AP Bari aka Young Lord.
