Welcome back everyone! Hope you are all staying blessed and living your best lives like Future Hendrix. With the retrograde being over, a sis can finally get back on road and figure out what the heck she bout to do next! For those that have been following along with my creative journey, ya’ll may of noticed that I changed my username to Camille Anwuli which is my first and middle name. I wanted to be more in touch with myself emotionally and not hide behind a name that doesn’t correlate to my brand and audience. The name Anwuli was given to me by my grandmother at birth. She later told me the meaning behind this six letter name. It is Nigerian origin (Igbo to be exact) and it means joy. For the longest time I could not wrap my head around why I deserved such an uplifting word. I found out the reason why during my two week stay in Hawaii, and here it goes:

Is it during times of greatness that we celebrate ourselves. But it is also through times of darkness where we must celebrate the most because during those times, our strength is tested the most.

Look I am not gonna tell you that my life is perfect. On the gram, I do have a tendency to showcase the good and it was during a time where I wasn’t ready to reveal the inner me in terms of what goes thru my head or how I stay positive during tough times. As of July, I moved out on my own and as much as the thought scared me, I embraced the change with open arms. Times do get tough in terms of rent, creative blocks and loneliness which is bound to happen at times. It is during those tough times where you need to seek that joy and say that things will get better. Being the only person in charge of your brand and building your platform from the ground up is hard but it humbles you in the sense of how far you’ve come. And that is a feeling that I am eternally grateful for and possess great joy for.

With my platform, I do wish to get in touch with Anwuli and really dig to the root of where her joy comes from. Whether it be a thought, a vulnerable or tough moment, a collaboration and the work that goes into maintaining my brand. You may of noticed that with my outfit articles, I go more into detail with my feelings and how it relates to the Jordan’s on my feet or a graphic tee. Style is more than just an outfit and I am in a position now where I can be more open with myself emotionally and spiritually. I am still styling my life but in the way that Camille Anwuli does it. The journey to self-discovery never ends and I cannot wait to see what I uncover next.

Until now,

Peace,  love & joy ❤
